Backcountry Tour - January 20

Hi Nordic Skiers,

Linda Socher is organizing a combination groomed trails/ backcountry tour on Saturday, January 20th. Here are the details:

  • Distance: approximately 18 km round trip
  • Ski time: approximately 3 hours round trip
  • Level: Intermediate
  • Meeting time: 10:30 am
  • Meeting Location: The overnight RV parking at Fernie Alpine Resort (between the Timber Chair and the Maintenance Building)
  • Cost: $10 for lunch
  • Recommended gear: Light weight touring gear

    • We will ski down the Nordic Trails at Fernie Alpine Resort and then head off through the woods to a Bed and Breakfast where we will be served a nice lunch. Linda recommends light weight touring skis since we will be off piste for some of the tour.

    Sign Up: Please contact Cheryl (423-7324) before tomorrow (Friday) at 5:00 pm so we can let the lady at the B&B know how many people are coming. The group size is limited to 16 people, so sign up soon if you want a spot.
